We all have an earthly friend who stands by us both in good times and in bad times, such friends are friends indeed and not friends in need. Yeah, such friends are hard to come by but we have one who is mightier and precious than every other friend we have on earth.
A friend who doesn't just stand by us but also lead us, a friend who doesn't just have plans for us but makes them come to existences that friend is Jesus Christ.
In sorrow, He is our comfort,
In trouble, He is my friend
He tells me every care on Him to roll
He is the lily of the valley
The bright and morning star
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
One who isn't just a friend but a comforter who stands by us during our sorrowful moment and sends to our mind and soul words of comfort. He isn't just a friend but a peace giver. He doesn't just make peace in our environment but also gives us peace in our hearts that radiates to our physical appearance.
2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
In times when we fell the storms are coming and the waves are refusing to calm down, God is always there to comfort us. In times when the doctor reports may way you down, God is always there to prove Himself us our great physicians.
In times when circumstances and situations of life may make us grow weary and feel weak and feeble, God is always there to strengthen us both physically and spiritually.
In periods, when it seems your family and friends turn their backs on us. When it seems the world has deserted and rejected us when it seems the world has forsaken us, God is always there to comfort us and become not just a loving father but our friend as well. He is the only one who never rejects, forsakes, and deserts His own. He is always with us along life's journey all the way.
He is always there to comfort us and keep our minds on track for the goals set before us. Funny enough, He never sleeps nor slumber. Always protecting and guiding us from the wicked one. He is our great comforter.
Why not look up to Him the Author and the finisher of our faith and let us all learn to stop looking up to humans who will one day fail us. Let us learn to look up to the one who will lead and walk with us through life's journey and never grow weary of us because only Him can walk with us when the world deserts us.
